Chi Wei

When the life energy, the chi, is directed intently on the present moment. When human attention is focused on only the present, magic, miracle, and synchronicity occur. The chi energy is the power of magic.

Synchronicity is what many call coincidence or serendipity. It is when things seem to fall in place on their own. ...When this happens, we as human beings enjoy it immensely, it seems like the "universe" is behind us, on our side.

The great thing is that being in the present moment is the easiest possible way to live. All else takes a tremendous amount of energy, actually the very same chi. Being in the present moment is like floating downstream, all else is like battling the current.
Dragging the past into the present in remorse, resentment, revenge, and reliving past trauma all use up energy, essentially dispersing the chi from the present moment.

Dragging the future into the present in expectation, motivation, envy, even intentions also use up this chi energy.

Then life becomes a struggle rather than a joy; we begin to feel depressed, fearful, anxious, stressed, perhaps even bored and/or angry.

The chi energy has been spent and distracted, there is no longer enough left for the magic and mystery.
